Bu çalışmada kentin, denetim teknolojilerinin ve kontrolün yalnızca nesnesi değil aynı zamanda bir cephesi ve alanı olduğu ileri sürülüyor. Kentsel mekânın denetlenmesinin, o mekâna ilişkin deneyimin kontrolünü nasıl beraberinde getirdiği inceleniyor. Bu açıdan Michel Foucault’nun disiplinci ve denetimci iktidar ayrımı, kentsel kontrolün mantığının analizi için önemli bir uğrak noktasıdır. Artık, deneyimin üretilmesi, tüm yaşamı nesne edinmiş olan biyo-iktidarın alanında gerçekleşir. Öte yandan, denetim teknolojilerinin ölçülebilir ve dolayısıyla kontrol edilebilir kıldığı kentsel mekân, içinde kontrol mantığına uymayan heterojen çokluklar barındırır. Gilles Deleuze’ün, düşüncenin hiyerarşik imajlarına karşı geliştirdiği yatay, olumlayıcı bir bağlantı imajı sunan rizomlar, kentsel mekânın yerleşik kontrol mantığını aşındıran bir hat oluştururlar ve kenti bir çokluk olarak düşünmenin yolunu açarlar. Italo Calvino’nun Görünmez Kentler’de sunduğu kent imgeleri gözetleme teknolojilerinden ve kontrol mantığından görünmez-oluş yoluyla kaçmanın gerçek deneyimi olarak bir çokluk imgesi etrafında düşünülmektedir.

In this study, it is argued that city isn’t only an object of supervision technologies and control but also a front and a field of them. Then, how the supervision of the urban space brings along the controlling of experience related to that space is studied. In this respect, Michel Foucault’s distinction between disciplinarian and the controlling power is an important point of contact. Now, production of experience is held in the field of the bio-power which makes overall life to its object. On the other hand, the urban space which is converted to an quantifiable so that controllable thing by technologies of supervision keeps back hetereogeneous multiplicities inside itself which are not conforming the logic of control. Rhizomes, developed by Gilles Deleuze contrary to the hierarchical images of thought, that offer an horizontal and affirmative images of connection form a line which does abrade the established logic of control and makes way for thinking city as a multipli-city. The images of city that Italo Calvino introduced in Invisible Cities are being thought as a real experience of running away observation technologies and of logic of control through becoming-invisible around an image of multipli-city.
