Özet

Organic farming is an alternative agricultural production method that has less impact on human health and the environment than the conventional use of agricultural inputs. This paper reviews the development of organic farming in Turkey and puts forward suggestions to strengthen the organic market for producers, domestic and foreign consumers and Turkish agriculture as a whole. These suggestions are expected to contribute to the development of organic farming, production and consumption, potentially leading to higher returns for producers and the more efficient use of farm labour.
