Özet

This study, in which lettuce plants was cultivated between the two rows of tomato, was conducted during the autumn-winter periods for two years in a glasshouse at Akdeniz University. Yield values, fruit width and height, fruit firmness, flesh thickness, total soluble solid, pH, vitamin C, citric acid, head height, butt diameter, number of leaves and color measurements were determined in tomato and lettuce. According to results, the highest first class (10.36 and 9.96 kg m(-2)) and the total tomato yield (10.79 and 10:45 kg m(-2)) in both years were obtained from T-L/1. Most highly marketable (4.24 kg m(-2 )and 3.16 kg m(-2)) and total lettuce (4.85 and 4.71 kg m(-2)) yields in both the years of the control were found. The results obtained from the study are applicable in practice for intercropping systems with lettuce in protected vegetable growing. T-L/3 experiment was found to be the best intercropping applications.
