Özet

In Antalya Province, which ranks first in greenhouse vegetable production in Turkey, the application of biological control as an alternative to chemical control against pest species by the growers is an important development for the protection of human health and the environment. Biological control applications, which were started to be made commercially in pepper fields for the first time in greenhouse vegetable cultivation, are carried out more on the basis of production area in pepper cultivation compared to other products. This study was carried out in the 2019-2020 growing season in order to evaluate the biological control practices in the districts of Kumluca and Demre, where greenhouse pepper cultivation is most intense in Antalya province. Within the scope of the study, a face-to-face survey was conducted with a total of 106 growers with a production area of approximately 981 decares in 10 different locations in two districts. As a result of the interviews, the approaches of the growers to the biological control of pepper were discussed and the problems and satisfactions were discussed. It is thought that the evaluation of the current results will contribute to the widespread use of biological control applications in both pepper and other crops.
