Özet

The environment is changing due to developing technology and increasing human needs. Controlled and/or uncontrolled use of resources greatly affects the structure of the natural environment. The aim of this study is to analyze the changes in the natural and artificial environment with the help of landscape metrics. The changes of Samandag district, which is an important coastline of Hatay province, were digitized by means of Geographic Information Systems between the years 1992-2017. According to the data obtained; While an increase was detected in the beaches, dunes and sand plains in terms of area, decreases were determined in the areas that are permanently irrigated land. In the analysis of changes in landscape metrics, fragmentation/splitting occurred in complex cultivation patterns and natural grassland, while growth or extinction was observed in other uses. As a result of the study, a projection map of the area was created. According to this map, suggestions have been developed in line with ecological principles for the development of the area.
