Özet

This study investigated the germination and some growing parameters of three silage sorghum varieties, Gozde-80, Leoti and Early Sumac, under different salinity levels (0, 75, 150 and 300 mmol L-1 NaCl) and on different soils having clay, loam and sand textures. Pot experiment was carried out and 20 seeds were sown on pots with 5 kg soils per each and were salinized artificially with given NaCl doses. Daily germination rate was determined just after the sowing, and 5 plants per pot were removed on 12th days in order to measure root and shoot length and dry weight. Though elevated levels of NaCl led to a decrease on germination rate, germination index as well as root and shoot length and dry weight increased. Gozde-80 was superior to the others and texture was found not to affect the germination negatively.
