Özet

The beaches, which have a very important position for the environmental ecosystem, also host millions of people every year. The sustainability of the chemical balance on the beaches, which are quite sensitive to natural or artificial (anthropogenic) pollutants, is important for the environment and human health. Damlatas beach, located within the borders of Alanya district of Antalya province, consists of fine pelagic sea sands in grain size. X-Ray Fluorescence Spectorometry (XRF) analysis was performed on four samples collected on the Damlatas coastline. According to the results obtained, the order of major oxide compositions and some important trace element compositions from largest to smallest is as follows in percentage; SiO2 (81.07) > CaO (7.23) > Na2O (5.07) > Al2O3 (2.72) > MgO (2.38) > Fe2O3 (0.47) > Zr (0.27) = K2O (0.27) > Cl (0.12) > SO3 (0.11) > TiO2 (0.08) > Cr (0.018) > Sr (0.0038) > Sn (0.025) > Pb (0.0013) > Zn (0.0011) > Co (0.0010). According to the analyzed elements, the geological conditions in the region are highly influential on the chemical content of the beach sands. It is thought that the factors that increase the trace element concentrations may be the Upper Cretaceous aged ophiolitic rocks in the region. In this context, controlling the chemical content of the Damlatas beach area, which is important both for tourism and for the environment, will be necessary for sustainable conservation and use by making regular sampling and analysis.
