Özet

The aim of this study is to explore to what extent and for which purposes have analytical review procedures been employed by auditing firms authorized by Capital Markets Board and to state the problems faced in practice. The population of the research is 96 auditing firms which are authorized by SPK in 2007. Research is conducted through a survey coherent with the aim of the study and the results are analysed by SPSS 15.0 package programme. Results of the survey reveal that the most important reasons for employing analytical analysis procedures are; to improve the auditing efficiency, to use as a risk evaluation tool, to explore the inconsistencies and obligation of the usage of analytical analysis procedures within auditing standards. Moreover, it has been observed that the most important problem faced by auditors is the difficulty on collecting data.
