Özet

The C-arm fluoroscopy X-ray systems have been used for a variety of radio-diagnostic imaging and minimally invasive surgical operating procedures. In the operating theater room, these unites help to visualizing kidney drainage, abdominal or thoracic aortic aneurysm repair, gastroenterology, orthopedics, neurology and other medical procedures that need imaging. The shortcoming, however, may be raised up the risk of radiation exposure to surgeon, health workers-staff and patient. Presented study was aimed to analyze the amount of radiation received by them and even to bring awareness regard the use of standard Lead apron (5mm thick) and by adequate distance for safety in everyday practice. The measurements with Geiger Muller counter were performed at maximum kV and mA for determination of dose rate with and without Lead apron for different distances from X-ray unit at the level of patient position. Reduction of risks due to ionizing radiation can be achieved by various practices. So, it provides good safe usage of this type of X-ray unit.
