Özet

Vertical slab gel polyacrylamide electrophoresis (PAGE) was conducted on 15 Turkish ecotypes and 3 Italian cultivars (Bianca, Gialla and Rossa) for Acid phosphatase (HP), Alcohol dehydrogenase (ADH), Catechol oxidase (GO), Glucose phosphate isomerase (GPI), Glutamate oxaloacetate transaminase (GOT), Leucine aminopeptidase (LAP) and Malate dehydrogenase (MDH) enzyme systems. While cladodes were used for Italian cultivars, fruits and cladodes were used in ecotypes for enzyme extraction. Although no differences were observed among ecotypes and cultivars, differences were observed between fruits and cladodes for a given enzyme system. While GOT has the minimum number of bands with only 1 band for both fruits and cladodes,GPI has the maximum number of the bands with 7 bands for cladodes and 3 bands for fruits. It is assumed that genetic diversity may be very small among ecotypes and cultivars of Opuntia ficus-indica (L.) Mill.
