Özet

In this study, 3 different oxygen releasing methods which increase the O-2 of the nutrient solution have been used in floating systems and researched their effects on yield and quality of lettuce. 'Bohemia' and 'Delight' cultivars of lettuce were used. Plants were grown in 9 plastic containers (120x50x30 cm dimensions) with a capacity of 180 liters. In order to enrich the oxygen content in the solution, an aquarium air pump, an air pump + air stone and an ozone generator were used. Seedlings with 4-5 true leaves stage were placed on 12x15 cm intervals onto styrofoam plates with perforated plastic pots in first day of May and harvested 27th of May. The trial has been applied as 3 repetitions to randomized blocks trial pattern. Total 21 plants have been put into one case as in each repetition. In this study, the effects of different oxygen enrichment methods were investigated in terms of plant weight (g), root length (cm), root weight (g), the number of leaf per plant and colour. When the effect of different oxygen enrichment methods in terms of weight was taken into consideration, the difference between the cultivars and methods, were statistically significant. Plants grown in air-pump + air stone gave the best yield with 202.4 g, while 179,78 g in air pump and 144,59 g in ozone generator. 'Bohemia' cultivar gave better results than cv. 'Delight' in terms of plant weight, root length and root weight except the number of leaves.
