The Effects of Different Organic Manure Applications on the Dry Weight and the Essential Oil Quantity of Sage (Salvia fruticosa Mill.)

Özet

In this study, the effects of different organic manure applications on dry weight, essential oil content and per plant oil quantity of sage were researched, as manures were cattle manure, sheep manure and poultry manure. At the end of the growth, the effects of manure applications on the increase of essential oil quantity were found statistically important (p<0.001) when they were compared with the control plants, and it was determined that the increase of the essential oil quantity was changed between 41.33% and 51.70%. The increases of dry weight in manure applied plants were found statistically important, and it was found that the increase of dry weight was changed between 3.96% and 42.63%. In addition, the increase of per plant essential oil quantity was found statistically important and maximal increases were observed in poultry manure applications with 68.90%. The minimal increase was attained from the mixture of sheep manure- poultry manure- cattle manure with 45.86%. As a result, manure applications were effective on the increase of the dry weight, the essential oil content and per plant oil quantity of medical plant sage.
