Özet

The interdependent nature of syntax and semantics is embodied in poetic language use, and this requires the stylistic analysis to be the primary stage and concern of focus in poetry analysis. Such an approach is relevant to any literary genre as the stylistic analysis of a literary text via examining its structure is an indispensable aspect of interpretation. To identify the layers of meaning, it is essential to recognize the constituents of a stream of phrases in sentence form or in chunks. Chomskian transformational-generative grammar stipulated a method of investigation for poetic syntactic structure with far more sensitivity to intricacies than had ever been possible in literary criticism. Such phrase structure analyses may also straightforwardly provide templates for learners of language, literature, and creative writing so that syntactically predetermined model styles can offer guidelines for pedagogical stylistics. Therefore, this study aims to examine a set of selected poems in syntactic relations to identify their structural patterns, which may initiate and facilitate text interpretations and teaching.
